Another Successful Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival – Over 50 Years Running!

C&K associate Jasmine Englert, along with other committee members and volunteers, hosted more than 240 artists including special guest international artist Jose Diaz Trillo at Pensacola, Florida’s Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival (GGAF), November 1-3, 2024. Mr. Trillo’s art has previously been featured at shows in Spain, Italy, Belgium, and the U.K.

The GGAF is a free festival that provides artists with the opportunity to market their work, as well as providing musicians and dancers with the opportunity to perform in front of live audiences. Featured artists include painters, sculptors, jewelers, and craftsmen.

As part of the Beautification Committee, Jasmine assisted with implementing the festival’s theme with décor around the parks, stages, and gazebo. This process begins almost a year prior to the festival’s opening date. Through meetings, a plan is formed as to how to bring the theme to life. It is also a “hands on” role involving the build-up of the festival 1-2 days before opening and tear down of the festival after it closes. During the festival, Jasmine was responsible for ensuring the artists’ needs were met.

Downtown Pensacola hosts GGAF, where the festival is surrounded by wonderful museums, restaurants, art galleries, boutique-style retailers, and other entertainment establishments. Pensacola is known for having one of the more sophisticated and esteemed arts scenes in the South. Recently, GGAF was ranked 18th in Sunshine Artist Magazine's list of Top 200 most profitable art and craft festivals in the US.

And for anyone missing Louisiana during this year’s weekend trip to Pensacola, The Lost Bayou Ramblers were one of the musical guests at GGAF.
